“MAINICHI FASHION GRAND PRIX\u201d organized by the MAINICHI Newspapers and supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) was established in 1983 to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the launch of the Mainichi Newspapers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The “Grand Prix\u201d is to honor individuals (designer, business owner, coordinators, etc.), companies, as well as organizations who or which have made the greatest contribution to cultural activities during the year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hidenori Kumakiri was awarded for his exploration of new possibilities in pattern-making \u201cSide-C<\/a>\u201d and his persistence in his original perspective creation. This year marks the 7th collection since joining the Paris Fashion Week, its steady progress in gaining international recognition since the 17FW collection. Futhermore, the attitude of creating new things from scratch even under the COVID-19 pandemic is highly valued by the judges.<\/p>\n
